Pachhunga University College (PUC) is the oldest and most prestigious higher education institution in Mizoram. It was established in 1958 as Aijal College, making it the first college in the state. In 1965, it was renamed Pachhunga Memorial College in honor of Pachhunga, a philanthropist who made significant contributions to its development.

In 1979, the college was taken over by the Government of Mizoram and later, in 2001, it became a constituent college of Mizoram University. Today, it serves as a premier institution for undergraduate and postgraduate education in the state, providing high-quality education across various disciplines.
